Aqua~Fit at Melbourn Sports Centre is more than just aerobics in water. It’s a complete workout for the whole body and is suitable for everyone.
All our Aqua~Fit classes are led by a qualified instructor and we have a wide range of equipment including Aqua Gloves, Dumbbell Floats and ‘Woggles’.
Each class lasts an hour and includes warm up, combination exercises, cool down, stretches and often deep water work. Our fun and friendly classes are made all the more lively by popular musical accompaniment.

During school holidays all morning sessions will take place between 9.35 - 10.35.

Benefits of Aqua-fit
Aqua~Fit is a physical activity which increases the body’s intake of oxygen and increases the heart rate.
You need not be a confident swimmer to take part as most exercises are done upright.
Water causes the body to be more buoyant reducing the amount of strain put on joints and muscles.
Water naturally cools the body giving you a more comfortable work out than land based exercise.
Booking an Aqua-fit class
Due to strict heath and safety rules we can have no more than 30 people in each Aqua~Fit class. Therefore we have a booking system which runs as follows:
- Bookings can only be made one week in advance of the class.
- Booking cannot be made any earlier than 30 minutes prior to the session of the week before.
- Booking can only be made with payment.
- Each customer can only book a maximum of two places in each session, both spaces must be paid for at the time.
If you cannot attend an Aqua~Fit class please notify us as soon as possible. If you fail to allow us 24 hours notice you will forfeit the amount paid for that booking. If you do allow more than 24 hours notice your money will be refunded but we cannot transfer payment to the following week. You must attend reception to rebook or collect your refund. Please remember to let us know if you cannot attend a class, as we may be able to offer your space to someone on the waiting list.
Before taking up any form of exercise it is wise to consider your current state of health. Always begin any new exercise slowly and build up gradually.
Please take time to read though the following questions:
Has your doctor ever said that you have a heart condition?
Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity?
In the past month have you had pain in your chest when not doing physical activity?
Do you lose your balance because of dizziness or do you ever lose consciousness?
Do you have a bone or joint problem which could be made worse by a change in your physical activity?
Is your doctor currently prescribing drugs for blood pressure or any other medical condition?
Are you or do you think you might be pregnant?
Do you know of any other reason why you should not take part in vigorous physical activity?
If you have answered yes to any questions or have any concerns please consult your GP before commencing or continuing with your plans to be come physically active.

Please remember to allow time to book in at reception and change before your class begins. If you arrive after the warm up has begun you will be unable to join the class. This is to protect you from injury and ensure you get the maximum benefit from the class
